Desoto Food Pantry
In the heart of DeSoto, there's an agency that has the heart and soul to care for the hungry - the DeSoto Food Pantry.

Our Mission

DeSoto Food Pantry is a community-supported effort to provide emergency food assistance to those in need in DeSoto and Glenn Heights (Dallas County portion).  Food assistance is provided at no cost and without discrimination.

History of the Pantry

In early 2008, a group of citizens became aware that emergency food needs were no longer being met in DeSoto and Glenn Heights.  They began to lay the foundation for a community-supported pantry to assist those in our community who are food insecure.  Hampton Road Baptist Church generously offered the use of a building on the church’s campus to house the pantry which is run by a Board of Directors and operated by volunteers.

The annual food drive held as part of Desoto’s Great Days of Service provided the food to stock the shelves initially.

The Food Pantry is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency and a member of the North Texas Food Bank.
