Desoto Food Pantry
In the heart of DeSoto, there's an agency that has the heart and soul to care for the hungry - the DeSoto Food Pantry.

Located on DeSoto's "Main Street" at 302 North Hampton,
this community-based food pantry serves those in need from DeSoto and the Dallas County section of neighboring Glenn Heights.

DeSoto Food Pantry began service to the community in 2008 and operates in a building made available by Hampton Road Baptist Church.

The founding of the Food Pantry came at the same time as the recession of 2008 began hitting across the country.

As the economy has weakened over the last two years, more and more local families have found themselves in need of assistance.
The DeSoto Food Pantry has answered that call for hundreds of families in the area.

As an agency of the North Texas Food Bank, and with the assistance of a growing number of grocery stores, the DeSoto Food Pantry has expanded to meet the needs of individuals and families who require emergency food assistance.

Churches, individuals, organizations and local food drives provide food and money on a continuing basis to help keep the shelves stocked.

The DeSoto Food Pantry is operated and staffed by volunteers from throughout the DeSoto area and welcomes new volunteers -
there's always a job to be done in helping feed those in need.
